My right side breast has clogged ducts and has become little hard. I fed my baby with right breast, he took feed for some time and refused. When I switched to left he took good feed and then spit the Milk. Yesterday he took last feed by 9.30 with cluster feed and slept by 11.30 pm. Normally he wakes up by 1.5 hours, but Yesterday he woke at 3am and then 6am took same kind of feed, first left and then right and again spit. what should I do?

A. Hello good morning !! Breast tightness and duct formation ,leakage happens when there is a good supply of milk. If the milk is not fully consumed by the baby or excessive supply forms as duct also causes pain. Do an ice pack or hot pack for melting the ducts ,express the milk out 2-3 times a day(this melts the ducts) once you feel lighter feed the baby as usual. After the feed improper burping or sometimes excessive feed cause spitting up of the milk . Burp well and check if lactose intolerance causing frequent spit ups,vomitings.
