Q.

My new born baby is 15 days old and on 3 day his billirubin increases at 14.6 then doctor suggested to admit him atleast 48 hours ..after phototherapy his billirubin level decreases at 7.5 but on 15 th day when we visited to doctor he again told us to do test. Tsh, coomb test, thyroid, haemogram, blood group. and all test reports comes normal but billirubin level again increases at 10.3 baby weight - 2.9,kg baby blood group - b+ve mother blood group- O -ve direct bilirubin -1.8 total bilirubin- 10.3 Is it normal to increases bilirubin again??? What exactly we can do to decrease billirubin level,? Is there any harm to my baby? And what exactly we can do next procedure?? I m very tensed now please suggest what to do ..is it sign of dangerous

A. I know it’s not easy for you to go through all this,also,is this your first pregnancy or did you have any history of previous abortion ? Asking this to know the effect of rh negative pregnancy

A. the increase in the bilirubin level is definitely a matter of concern and the doctor will do a further more test to see what is the reason for this increase. as long as the levels are less than 15 it's safe. only after further evaluation the doctor will be able to suggest something.

A. this is my first pregnancy and no past history is there for any abortion and etc.. no sugar no thyroid
