Q.

My lil boy is preterm baby and born in 28 weeks and was kept in NICU for 50 days and got discharged.. while he was in NICU I pumped my breastmilk and flow was good .. after he got discharged I tried direct feeding but my lil boy was still too small and didn’t know to latch properly. Also now when I pump my feed (ml) got reduced drastically. So I am giving my baby formula milk. But my baby is not adapting to formula milk. Please suggest me how to increase my flow and make my baby direct feed with me

A. Shatavari might be beneficial in improving breast milk production. This is due to its galactagogue activity. It might be due to the presence of steroidal saponins present in the plant. It also helps to increase the level of prolactin hormone thus, helps to improve breast milk supply
