Q.

my husband have thalassemia minor problem and I have a baby of 3 years old...is it necessary to checkup myself for thalassemia minor problem...or it could affect my 3 years old baby...I am very worried tell me what should I do

A. Can can get it checked for your baby, coz if she is also minor carrier of thallesimia you can give nutritious diet according to her iron needs, do her complete iron study.. give her iron suppliments only if her iron levels are low… otherwise dont give as it may cause her iron toxicity…. Thallesiamia minor is normal it just that you have to take care of kids diet to maintain her HB levels

A. you should consult with your doctor regarding this once as he will guide you better post examination of baby and suggest you accordingly as without tests it is hard to suggest anything
