Q.

My daughter is suffering from high fever of more than 101oC. It’s been more than 8 days. Still not recovered. Reports like dengue, typhoid and malaria are negative. I’m doing sponging since day 1 but still feverish. Doctors are saying it’s viral fever. But why it’s taking long time. I’m worried. Please help, please suggest.

A. Viral fever can take a minimum of 10 to 15 days in a lot of cases to heal completely so if the fever is constantly happening you can go ahead with the medication suggested by the doctor and hopefully over the period would be the fever would reduce down otherwise get a blood test to know if your child is suffering with some kind of infection as that can also keep the fever going persistently
