A. For a 2-month-old baby with jaundice and a bilirubin level of 6.7, it's important to follow the advice of your pediatrician. Jaundice in newborns is common, but if it persists, it requires careful monitoring. Here are a few things that may help: 1. Breastfeeding: Continue breastfeeding frequently, as it helps promote regular bowel movements and clears bilirubin from the baby’s system. Aim for at least 8-12 feeds a day. 2. Sunlight Exposure: Gentle sunlight exposure (early morning or late afternoon) for around 10-15 minutes can help break down excess bilirubin. Ensure the baby is dressed appropriately, with no direct sun on their face. 3. Follow Doctor’s Advice: If jaundice persists beyond a couple of weeks or the bilirubin level is still high, your doctor might recommend additional treatments such as phototherapy (light therapy) or further tests to rule out other underlying causes. Always consult your pediatrician before making any changes to your baby's diet or care routine, especially when dealing with jaundice.
