Q.
My daughter is around 2 month since yesterday she is having cold her nose is blocked. Please advise.

Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 4 m old boy2 years agoA. give nasal saline drops every few hourly to the child in the nasal cavity.
try to prevent temperature variations around the child
you can go for indirect steam inhalation which will again help in decreasing both cough and cold
continue the regular diet of the child
if there is no improvement in few days then meet your doctor
for fever andd pain give paracetamol.
anti-cold medicines at this age have got side effects so can be given only after medical consultation.

Cough is a protective reflex of the body to expel out the mucus or any irritant factor from the respiratory tract which is most of the time assosiated with cold due to any viral or bacterial infection . A proper examinatiogyn is required to find the cause .
As a home remedy you can start with steam inhalation . Cough can be treated with cough suppressant or antitussives as per the cause. For cold antihistamines are useful and nasal saline drops are also benifecial .
