A. give after 6 months.. along with complementary food. No other foods or fluids including water are not necessary till 6 months.  Exclusive breast feed your baby two hourly and on demand . Breast milk is the recommended source of nutrition for infants, especially during the first six months of life. Its better to wait till 6 months by that time baby's bowel will be mature enough to accept semi solid foods

A. Till the time solids are not introduced in baby's diet, they do not actually need much water. Still if you feel, you can give with spoon and not more than 100-200 ml per day. As the main food right now is milk, the fluid requirement of the body gets fulfilled by that. Once you introduce semi solid foods, then water intake quantity can be increased a little.
