Mom of a 6 yr 3 m old girl3 years ago
Q.

My daughter is 2.3yrs old. She uses diaper only in the night and during the day is in her underpants. When she does her pee, she tells me to change her underpants. Same goes when she poops. She informs to change after she's done. My concern is to make her sit on the potty seat. She's scared to sit for pee or poop on the pot. Also she doesn't allow me to use the toilet. She sits on the pot to clean after the poop but is never ready to sit and poop. How can I convince her to sit as I have tried all means to convince her? I don't understand what is the fear about?

A. potty training can be started at the age of one and half year to 2 yrs age.for this you need to develop a conditioned reflex in the child by fixing a particular time regularly in which the child should be taken to the washroom and seated over the potty seat .do not force the child instead make it a playful activity for not to make the child repulsive about it.slowly the child will learn to indicate before that time. you can counsel the child regarding the indications and gestures to be5 told for urination and for toilet slowly the baby will adapt it.
