A. If your 14-month-old daughter is active and eating well but has a low weight (7 kg), several factors could be influencing her growth: 1. Caloric Intake: While she eats four meals a day, ensure these meals are nutrient-dense and calorie-rich. Include healthy fats (like avocados, nuts, and olive oil), protein (such as eggs, lean meats, and legumes), and whole grains. 2. Milk Intake: If she’s not drinking much milk, try offering fortified alternatives like yogurt or cheese, which can also provide essential nutrients and calories. 3. Appetite and Food Preferences: Sometimes, picky eating or low appetite can affect weight gain. Offering a variety of foods and using creative recipes might help. 4. Growth Patterns: Each child grows at their own pace. Some children may have slower growth rates while remaining healthy. Check if her growth patterns are consistent with her previous development. 5. Health Concerns: Although she seems active, underlying health issues can affect weight gain. Conditions such as gastrointestinal issues, metabolic disorders, or malabsorption problems could be factors. 6. Consult a Pediatrician: It's important to consult your pediatrician to rule out any potential health issues and get personalized advice on how to support her growth. They may suggest additional tests or refer you to a nutritionist for tailored dietary recommendations. In the meantime, ensure she has a balanced diet and continues to receive adequate care and attention.
