Q.

My daughter having constipation problem from 3/4 months I’m not able to find out the thing which is making her constipated She eats veggie in kichadi and soup form Rice ragi wheat rava jawar fruits banana apple chikoo mango She without fail have one banana daily As doctor told to complete stop cow milk feed to her i did that also but not getting any results

A. Constipation is a problem where there is difficulty in passing the stools and it could be very hard leading to sometimes injury and it becomes a chronic condition in most of the cases if not treated properly . most important thing is a proper diet with good fibre and plenty of liquids . Also avoidance of food which can aggravate the condition like Banana excess of milk and food with maida and junk . medications shotyuld be given like lactulose or polyethylene glycol but only in guidance with the doctor. In emergency situation glycerine suppository or enema is useful.
