A. I'm sorry to hear that your daughter has a fever and that the treatment with Calpol hasn't been fully effective. Based on medical advice, a sponge bath can help to bring down your daughter's temperature and provide some comfort. Make sure to use lukewarm water and avoid using cold water or alcohol as this can cause discomfort too. If the fever persists, be sure to consult with your doctor again.

A. A lukewarm bath or sponge bath may help cool a fever. Lukewarm baths work better if the child also gets medicine. Otherwise, the temperature might bounce right back up. Do not use cold baths, ice, or alcohol rubs.
