Q.

My 7 month old baby girl has been suffering from fever since yesterday afternoon. I gave her a Calpol 100 mg drop 1 ml. The temperature was down in the evening but again the fever came at night. I gave her a calpol drop again but still she is suffering from fever. Any Suggestions?

A. the first medicine will always be paracetamol and it is given according to weight and power of paracetamol medicine you are having. give liquids and easily digestible food and paracetamol should be given only after food. keep the child in cool environment and avoid using woolen clothes when the child is having fever armpit temperature of hundred or more is consideredu as fever to body sponge to decrease the surface temperature and should be carried out for at least 20 minutes with normal temperaturet water. higher medicines (ibugesic / meftal-p) whether required or not will be told by the doctor.
