A. dear mum eating mud and other non food items is known as Pica It's causes maybe related to nutritional deficiency like zinc or iron, so consult doctor and give a balanced diet having variety of food groups especially seasonal vegetables green leafy vegetables and fruits to avoid deficiency. it can also be related to development or behavioral issues like child wanting to seek attention

A. Would be due to deficiency of calcium in the body you can check with your doctor you can start with necessary supplement for the child which is what is going to be good to be given as of now and that is what is going to help in meeting the deficiency so hopefully this habit is going to go down the passing time
