Q.

My child has been detected with a hole in her heart. She is 22 months old. In dec we consulted 1 doc according to whom the size of hole was 8 mm and was PFO. He suggested to wait as it was having chances of closing by itself. Now we consulted another doc for second opinion and he detected hole of 18 mm and ASD. He suggested device closure in around 1-2 months. Now we are confused that it is PFO or ASD and should we go with the device closure or should wait to close it naturally? pls suggest a way out

A. if the hole is small there is chance of hole getting cure on its own with out any surgery but a regular monitoring is needed to check 18mm is big one so you need to follow the observing doctor take care
