Q.

My child has a habit of scratching on mosquito bite to such level that she has small punchered wound. When asked, she said most of the time she does it consciously and sometimes unknowingly.Even after the skin is repairing on its own,she again punchers the same wound .This action of hers is leaving scars everywhere on her body. She is fond of sweets but I don't give her sugar or any sweet things at home. She has a balanced diet homecooked less oily food.I am applying atogla moisturizer, then mupi ointment on punchered wound, mosquito repellents while she leaves home.Fyi ,She scratches n pick her skin when she is in washroom, changing or left alone. Please suggest what do I do?I have given her stress buster toy some in bathroom n bed also told her few accupressure points on fingers for distraction but is not working for all days.I am really worried that she will leave so many scars on her hands and legs.Should I show to a skin specialist or phychologist to treat?

A. Hello there ma’am please do not worry about it too much and please use a mosquito net in baby room and also use neem oil as a mosquito repellent in baby room and also apply candid dusting powder on baby effective skin when there is mosquito bite. Thanks and take care
