Q.

my baby will be 6 months next week..we will be starting solid to him...is it advisable to put salt in baby food?

A. No.. good to avoid adding salt till 1 year. Salt will be a burden on the tiny kidneys and the kidney’s will not be able to function properly due to the excessive load. And babies get required amount of salt from regular diet and bm. You can make your baby food more interesting and tasty by adding spices appropriate to the age of the baby.

A. Hai good evening !! No don't add salt in baby foods. Avoid salt and sugar until 1.5 - 2 years. Fruits and vegetables puriees, mashes, cerelac, dal kichdi, oats, Dalia sooji porridge/kheer. Use ghee/butter instead oil,dates syrup in kheer only if necessary instead sugar.
