Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 4 m old boy2 years agoA. finger, thumb, hand, things insertion in the oral cavity is very normal at this stage and usually it is due to teething pain the child is experiencing along with inflammation and pain in the gums.
just maintain hygiene of the child finger as well as any type of things which goes inside thed oral cavity and also try to maintain the hygiene of your finger when you are touching the hands of the child.
to decrease the teething pain you can press the gums of the child and if tdhe child is very irritable and crying for pain you can give paracetamol also.e
it is a self limiting habit and no treatment is required.
POOJA KOTHARIMom of a 8 yr 5 m old boy2 years agoA. Hello,
Teething. Most babies begin teething between 4 and 7 months old, so while you can probably rule this out for a newborn, it could definitely be causing your older baby to suck on their hands, fists, or fingers. Their gums hurt and rubbing something against those sore spots feels good!
