Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 4 m old boy3 years agoA. it is due to teething.
there is itching, pain, drooling of saliva, swelling in the gums, oral finger insertion, irritability and crying during the teething process.
with the help of your fingers you can press the gums of the child to ddecrease the pain as well as you can give a pacifier but it should be clean.
you can give a cold cotton cloth to bite and press between the gums
the child is crying due to pain then you can give paracetamol which will also help in decreasing the pain
Shaista TarannumMom of a 16 yr 5 m old boy3 years agoA. if baby has cold and is teething then they are good enough reasons for tye baby to be not eating well. if he is breastfeeding well then that should be good enough. try and feed other foods in small quantity. teething will cause irritation in gums and babies tend to avoid eating. and if you are saying baby has cold then due to blocked nose he may feel more irritated.
Massaging your baby’s gums when he is teething is a great way of alleviating the pain and irritation.Simply wash your hands thoroughly and wipe them dry. Then use your clean fingers to gently massage the bottom of his gums. Do not apply any pressure nor massage the top of the gums where the tooth would erupt. Only run your fingers gently at the base of the gums and continue doing so all along his gums.
Focus on the gums at the front since that is where the first teeth would emerge. You can give this massage when you feel your baby is irritated due to teething.
