Q.

My baby is going to be 3month on 8th has breath hold issue .. she holds her breath for 15 sec while crying and turns red .. can som1plz help me with this and y is this so ?? What issue she might have in future

A. they are also known as breath holding spells which many times occur due to change in behaviour of the child as well as it is commonly associated with iron deficiency anaemia. it is important that you shoulld give iron supplements to the child and during the episode it is important to move the child away from that environment to a new environment and then divert the child. it is a self limiting problem and will go away in next 2 or 3 months maximum

Hi doctor, my 15 months old son used to hold his breath for a long time whenever he was crying.. since childhood, he was used to do this.. one day, he was crying badly and hold his breath for really long time, and we shake him taaki wo thik ho jaye, but he gone unconscious n still hold his breath.. that was very tough time.. but after time he gets normal.. why my son hold his breath while crying for so long time..??? is everything ok..???
