Q.
my baby is getting high fever frequently, it remains for 1-2 days then it goes away. no other symptoms. only common thing is ac, does ac trigger fever? in past 1 monhtthe has got fever 3 times. kindly suggest

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. Fever is a reaction of the body to different pyrogens released during any Infection. Usually temp more than 99 F is taken as fever .
Mostly in children fever is because of viral infections like flu or RSV where the fever is there for 4-5 days but may persist even upto 2 weeks .
Initially antipyretic like paracetamol is given in a dose of 15 mg / kg/ dose. Can be repeated after 4-6 hrs if needed .other medicine like mefenamic acid ibuprofen can alsro be given .
Lukewarm sponge bath can be given as home remetdy to decrease fever.
Adequate fluid intake is also beneficial.
Urine output monitoring is necessary to avoid dehydration .

No Ac does not cause fever.
Get the blood test done if the Baby is get recurrent fever.
Give paracetamol to ur baby if the fever is 99.5F or above. take care and all the best
