Q.

my baby is 6months old. he started complimentary food right now. I give him banana , boiled apple etc in his diet chart. still he has a tendency of constipation. today he passes stool after a lot of pressure. he started crying while passing stool. some blood release also today. what should do?

A. the baby is more than 6 months of age started recently complementary foods Constipation is quite common in babies you have to do modification of food baby will be taking we have to include fibre in the diet of the baby you lot of fruits seasonally available like mango papaya banana and adequate water for the baby to drink

A. Not to over feed too. Try to start slowly with watery foods. initially you can start with simple purees and waters. These are easy digesting foods for baby tummy..like carrot, potato, banana and waters like rice or dal water. Then second week you can continue with other purees or combination of two fruits veggies, the third week you can give instant homemade rice cereal. Slowly you can add a veggie or fruit to the rice cereal this would give a different taste. Ensure to give a fruit and vegetable everyday. That will not lead to constipation.
