Q.
my baby is 5months old and she had cough and cold 3 times from her birth...is there any bad effect goes on her lungs from this ...,?

DR SHIWAJIRAO PATILGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. Hello, your baby girl is 4 months old and she had three occasions of cough and cold since her birth so it’s not a serious problem but viral infection due to low immunity

Cough along with Cold most of the time is a viral illness and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration. you can give steam inhalation which is very useful . cough needs to be treated with anti allergic and expectdorant bronchodilators or antitussives medicine which should be given only after a proper evaluation by the doctor according to the type of cough. if fever is there pbfaracetamol can be given to reduce the fever and the dose can be repeated after 6 hours again if required .
