Q.

My baby is 3 months 12 days old and his weight is only 4.2 kg. His birthweight was 2.5 kg. Doctor had suggested lactogen 1 one month back but i did not start it since I wanted to exclusively breastfeed. I have 2 questions-1) is his weight normal? 2) what are the side effects of formula milk?

A. Giving your baby formula in addition to breastfeeding is called supplementing. It's completely fine and perfectly safe to do.Many families choose this type of combination feeding method, whether out of necessity (e.g. low breast milk supply), convenience, or simply personal choice. In some cases, breastfeeding and providing formula may be recommended by a doctor for medical reasons.
