POOJA KOTHARIMom of a 8 yr 5 m old boy3 years agoA. If your baby is younger than 3 months and has a fever as well as diarrhea, call your pediatrician at once. If your baby is older than 3 months and has had mild diarrhea with a slight fever for more than a day, check whether he's passing a normal amount of urine.Occasionally babies will react to something in their mother's breastmilk, and this may sometimes cause diarrhea or constipation. Certain foods in mom's diet can also affect the stool color, but this is normal! The most common cause of diarrhoea in babies is a virus called rotavirus. Rotavirus infects by the faecal-oral route via contact with contaminated hands, surfaces and objects. It causes gastroenteritis, which is an infection of the gut that damages the inner lining of the intestine.Give your baby breastmilk more often. Also, give extra fluid if breast milk isn't keeping up with the fluid losses. You can use formula or ORS (Pedialyte).Solid foods: If on baby foods, continue them. Cereals are best.
