my baby is 28 days old still didn't gain birth weight...is it advisable to add formala feed along with breastfeeding

A. Exclusive breastfeeding is advisable till the time the baby completes 6 months of age. Only when breast milk production is not enough, formula milk is recommended. Please do not worry. Always feed your baby on demand. Burp the baby during and after each feed. Always feed the baby in an upright position. Make sure that while feeding, the baby empties one breast first before moving on to the next breast as the milk that comes towards the end which is hind milk is rich in fat and helps in healthy weight gain. Massaging your baby daily also helps to gain weight.
