Q.

My baby is 2 years 4 months old, and is 17 kg of weight. He has problems of constipation? What should we do for him?

A. Thanks Dr for the quick answer. one query we have. can we use Isafgol powder regularly to reduce constipation? One more thing, all the vaccines have been given to our child, recently he fell down and he has got minor cut, then we have given him a TetVac. But, when I consulted a local doctor then he told that till no years no TetVac is required, if the child is fully vaccinated. I want a more clarification on this. If I have given TetVac now then will it be harmful? I am worried.

A. Constipation is a chronic problem seen in children and most important cause is diet modification so firstly it should be taken care of. give good fibre diet with plenty of liquids and avoidance of food which canf aggravate constipation like Banana excess of milk and maida containing food. medications like lactulose PEG or glycerine suppository should be second option
