POOJA KOTHARIMom of a 8 yr 5 m old boy7 months agoA. It's not uncommon for some babies to take a bit longer to get their first tooth. Most babies get their first teeth between 6 to 12 months, but it's completely normal for a baby to get their first tooth as late as 18 months. If your baby is 1 year and 3 months old and still hasn't gotten a tooth, there's usually no cause for concern. Some babies may simply have a later start to teething.
When the teeth do start to come in, you can do the following:
Gum Care: Continue to clean your baby's gums with a soft, damp cloth even before the teeth come in. Teething Relief: If your baby experiences discomfort during teething, you can try using a chilled teething ring or a cool washcloth. There are also teething gels available, but it’s best to consult your pediatrician before using any. Dental Hygiene: Once the first tooth appears, begin cleaning it with a soft, baby-sized toothbrush and water. You don't need toothpaste at first.
If there are no teeth by 18 months, or if you notice any other developmental concerns, it's a good idea to consult your pediatrician to ensure everything is progressing well.
