Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. Fever is commonly seen in babies and mostly it's viral infection which is very common in children.
But if fever is high grade and persisting or assosiated with specific symptoms than other causes should also be ruled out .
Antipyretic like paracetamol or ibuprofen or mefenamic acid are usually given to reduce fever . Cofld sponging with lukewarm water is also helpful . hr
Doctor consultation should be done if symptoms like excessive irritability dullness loss of appetite less urine output is there .

U Can actually give paracetamol or Calpol to the child whatever is available to you along with that also I’m going to tell you if the fever is literally on the higher side than cold sponging can also help a lot in reducing down the fever so you can go ahead with both the things together simultaneously
