Q.

My baby got 6 week vaccinations last Wednesday. Her whole leg got swelling. we have applied ice on the area but still swelling not decreased. please suggest.

A. when fever and pain comes after vaccination you can give paracetamol to the child for fever as well as pain. paracetamol can be given maximum 4 times per day. you can also apply ice over the injection site. if there is local swelling you can apply ice as well as thrombophob gel. vaccine fever usually subfsides in max 2 to 3 days but if it continues beyond 3 days meet your dr to rule out any other causes of fever

A. See that is not a very good thing to be seen because the swelling should only be in the area where the vaccination has been given if it is on the entire leg please you should immediately be getting it checked with your doctor in the first place
