A. It's quite common for newborn babies to be born with a lighter skin tone, especially right after birth, and then gradually develop a darker complexion over the first few weeks or months. This change happens as melanin (the pigment responsible for skin color) develops in response to exposure to light and genetics. A baby's final skin tone usually settles by the time they are around 6 to 12 months old. Many parents notice changes during this period, and it's completely natural. The most important thing is your baby's health, growth, and happiness — skin color is a beautiful part of their unique identity, and it will gradually reveal itself in time.
