about 3/4 katori per meal about 3-4 meals per day.
soft, mashed and hygienically prepared foods like dal-rice with vegetables especially green veggies ,
veg khichadi,
porridges, kheer, give full cream top milk as curd paneer cheese, use milk to prepare baby food but avoid bottle feeding
soft mashed fruits,
daliya, soya
soaked roti pieces in dal
Can give egg chicken fish, meat after 9 months
Add powdered nuts (almond cashew nut walnut) to food
avoid water thin foods like thin dals and rice water, soups and fruit juices as they do not provide enough energy and fill stomach.
add ghee/oil on top of food for making it energy dense and squeeze some lemon where possible to increase iron absorption.
you can start giving finger foods in between meals. avoid foods that can choke like grapes, nuts and raw carrot pieces. give pieces of soft fruits like banana, chickoo, foods like idli, dhokla (fermented foods are healthy) , besan chila, upma, stuffed paratha pieces, peanut butter bread
continue to breastfeed

Nihita mittalMom of a 7 yr 9 m old boy7 years agoA. U may have the pediatrician prescribe some drops for hunger.give a banana and egg if possible.give a bit of ghee in the daal.this should help increase the baby's weight
