Reasons that your older baby might refuse to feed at the breast could include: something has changed that makes it difficult for baby to latch. a strong or fast flow of milk, which your baby is struggling to take. a painful mouth, due to an infection like thrush or because they're teething.Try having someone other than mom offer the bottle. ...Try offering the bottle when the baby is not very hungry. ...Try feeding the baby in different positions. ...Try moving around while feeding the baby. ...Try allowing the baby to latch onto the bottle nipple herself rather than putting it directly into her mouth.
