A. Swelling on one side of your baby’s face could be due to several reasons, such as: 1. Teething: Babies often experience swelling in their gums or face when teething, especially if the tooth is about to come through. The pressure from the teeth pushing through can cause localized swelling. 2. Infection or Abscess: A swollen face can sometimes indicate an infection, such as an abscessed tooth, ear infection, or even a viral or bacterial infection in the facial area. 3. Injury: If your baby has had a minor fall or injury, swelling can occur as part of the healing process. 4. Swollen Glands: Swollen lymph nodes or glands near the face can cause swelling, often as a reaction to an infection, such as a cold. 5. Sinus Issues: Sometimes, sinus congestion can cause swelling, especially around the cheekbones. If the swelling persists, seems painful, or is accompanied by other symptoms like fever, redness, or irritability, it's important to consult a pediatrician to determine the exact cause and receive appropriate treatment.
