Let him play with the food and make a mess and this is how he will learn to eat independently. Offer his favourite foods along with new foods that you want to introduce in his diet. Let him be a part of meal preparations like setting up the table before mealtimes or selecting the vegetable to be cooked. Offer smaller portions and give more only when he asks. Offer colourful foods like beetroot halwa, gajar halwa, pudina parantha etc. Colours attract kids. Offer foods on colourful plates or in stylish bowls. Cut foods into different shapes using food cutters. Avoid distractions during meal times like TV, laptop, mobile phone, tablet etc.
