Q.

My 7 months old boy isn't interested in solids at all. keeps crying always when in highchair. plays with food for sometime but never eats it. if I try to feed him he closes his mouth. This has happened since beginning of introducing solids. In between, he was eating for a couple of days and again now started rejecting like before. any suggestions please.

A. it is very common that during the initial one or two years the child might take liquid or semi solid diet. but you can always gradually shift to semi solid to solid diet with increasing consistency and you have to progress by 20% to 30% every few weeks. it is a learnincg process of swallowing as well as she is going by the child so do not worry and continue your efforts. the child will learn the chewing process gradually because the child is always copying people around them

A. Your baby may appear to "go off" solids because they don't like the taste or texture of the food they're eating .Or the food may simply be too hot or too cold. If you're offering your baby food that's new to them, they may refuse it at first
