Q.

My 4month old baby (born at 33 weeks) makes eye contact (stares at our faces) and sometimes smiles when lying down. Rest of the time he just keeps looking around and also does not look in direction of sound. Since he is premature, his corrected age is 2.5month. Doctor has asked to wait. Do we consider corrected age until 3 to 4 months for eye contact and head turning. Please reply, I am worried for my baby.

A. yes you said it right. it is important to follow the instructions and medicines course given by your doctor for the problem . they are safe if given by registered medical practitioner. do not undertake medicines or medical procedures not prescribed / guided by the doctor. take a follow up in few days if it is not improving for need of treatment modification

A. A child who is specially being mature child can use these basic milestones maybe a month or two extra so it’s completely alright it’s 2.5 years as of now if you say then approximately by age of three months completion to 3.5 months completion as per the actual age it is going to be better so kindly wait for awhile
