Q.

my 4 yr girl.child got mumps.she feels pain under the ears and cheeks.her cheeks got swelled.we are using ibuprofen and paracetamol suspension (combiflam suspension)..but it is working very slow I think..she is suffering from 4 days...

A. mumps is a type of viral infection. it is due to infection in the parotid gland which is type of salivary gland. it is a self limiting illness and the child will improve in 4 to 7 days. it can involve one sidxe or both sides of the jaw where parotid gland is present. symptomatic treatment is given in the form of paracetamol and warm compress can be done to decrease the swelling. please remain in contact with your doctor for treatment. it can be prevented by giving mmr vaccination.

A. Hello dear parent! Without proper physical examination it is not possible to understand the severity of the symptoms. Get your child personally examined by the doctor and seek medical advice. Keep Babyhug medication spoon handy
