Q.
my 4 months old baby is having fever from today morning .it is around 100. I gave fepanil paracetamol drops 0.5 ml. what can I do now should i visit my pediatrician

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. Fever is a reaction of the body to different pyrogens released during any Infection. Usually temp more than 99 F is taken as fever . Mostly in children fever is because of viral infections like flu or RSV where the fever is there for 4-5 days but may persist even upto 2 weeks . Initially antipyretic like paracetamol is given in a dose of 15 mg / kg/ dose. Can be repeated after 4-6 hrs if needed . Lukewarm sponge bath can be given as home ggrremedy to decrease fever. Adequate fluid intake is also beneficial. Urine output monitoring is necessary to avoid dehydration .

Hundred is not a higher degree temperature so you can continue with the medicine and if you see the temperature is rising or not subsiding more than this then you can consult a paediatrician and also start doing cold sponging that is going to help in reducing down the temperatureWrite Your Answer Here
