A. It's common for babies to experience mild side effects like vomiting when starting antibiotics. Here are some steps you can take to help your 3-month-old: 1. Monitor the Vomiting: Sometimes vomiting can occur due to the antibiotics irritating the stomach. If the vomiting is mild and happens only once or twice, it might be a temporary reaction. 2. Ensure Hydration: Keep an eye on your baby's hydration, especially if vomiting persists. Offer breast milk or formula frequently to prevent dehydration. 3. Space Out Feedings: Try offering smaller, more frequent feeds to help reduce the chances of vomiting. 4. Check with the Doctor: If the vomiting continues, becomes severe, or is accompanied by other symptoms like fever, diarrhea, or lethargy, contact your pediatrician. They may suggest adjusting the dose or switching antibiotics. 5. Probiotics: In some cases, your doctor may recommend probiotics to support gut health during and after antibiotic treatment. It's important to stay in touch with your pediatrician for further guidance, especially since your baby is so young.
