Q.

My 3 yrs 5 months baby has UTI. Urine culture reports shows E Coli 100000/ml urine. One senior pediatrician adviced only to increase more water intake and urine c/s test after 1 week. According to him antibiotic can cause her more weak.But She refuses to take more water. Today another pediatrician adviced to give Cefixim syrup 100mg/5ml-5 ml 12 hrly for 7 days. What should we do kindly advice

A. well actually UTI is actually a very severe infection which is why it’s important to give medication if it’s a senior doctor whose advising you to give only water then what you do is ask your doctor if you can add some ORS into that can you give buttermilk coconut water because these things are going to have flavours of your childhood have it rather more than having plain water
