my 3 month baby consistently passes motion once in 5-7 days..he is exclusively breastfed...why is it so?

A. Constipation in Babies less than 1 year is very common and more in formula fed babies and also when initially the semi solid food has been started after 6 months . you can give bonnisgan drops and shoome enzyme preparations in proper dose suggested by doctor and cow's milk should be avoided before 1 year of age . Medications are required but it should be given only in medical supervision .

A. this is common in infants some will pass motion 5 to 6 times in a day while some once in few days ,both conditions are totally normal there is nothing to worry about. just check peeing consistency it should be 8 to 15 times in a day if it is same then baby is healthy
