Q.

My 25 days old baby had a cold and the doctor prescribed xone xp IM injection (Ceftriaxone + Tazobactam) however there was no improvement. When we visited another doctor he mentioned that the cold will go on its own and the injection should have been avoided. Please tell me if there is any long term side effect of that injection since that was not required at the first place.

A. this need to be examined . Pediatrician should be consulted for this as it may be some underlying problem with the baby . No any medication should be given to baby with out consulting doctor and proper examination .
