Q.
My 22Months Baby is coughing when exposed to (Agarbathi Smoke ,Dust) & also when he eats Food like(Biscuits,Chips & any sweet items) from since 3Months ,when we visiting doc. he said its common in kids it due to allergy can i know what could be a reason?? Note : he will cough atleast 1Hour when he exposed to above metioned items!

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. Cough along with Cold most of the time is a viral illness and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration. you can give steam inhalation which is very useful .
cough needs to be treated with anti allergic and expectorant bronchodilators or antitussives medicine wjohich should be given only after a proper evaluation by the doctor according tof the type of cough.
if fever is there paracetamol can be given to reduce the fever and the dose can be repeated after 6 hours again if required .
