My 11 month old is having cold for past 1 week As I am unable to visit my baby's regular paediatrician I want to the paediatrician in the nearby hospital he has prescribed Omnacortil solution 5ml twice a day for couple of days Is it ok to give this syrup which contains steroids for my baby?

A. not required only for cold infection in the baby. in monsoon season there will be recurrent viral infections main reason for cold and cough sometimes it can be because of allergies also please give steam inhalation frequently and antihistamins
