Give colourful foods and if possible, cut foods into different shapes using food cutters. Give foods on colourful plates. Offer small portions of food. Give your kid a bowl and a spoon and let her try to eat on her own. Let her make a mess and play with the food. This is how she will learn to eat independently by touching, playing and finally tasting the food. Let her be a part of meal preparations. Let her help in setting up the table for meals and let her be a part of choosing vegetables for curry preparations. Avoid distractions during mealtime such as TV, tablets, mobile phone and laptops. Praise her even if she finishes a part of her meal. Do not ever force her to eat.
