Loose motion are most of the time infective where it is associated with fever and vomiting and its known as gastroenteritis where symptomatic treatment along with management for dehydration is required if loose motions are associated with foul smell mucous high grade fever than it could be bacterial infection which needs antibiovgtics treatment

U Will have to consult your doctor because a proper treatment can be suggested by the doctor and also if you need to shift to non-lactose milk for the time being you have to go ahead with that to send this case I would you say that consult your paediatrician ones for sure
