A. It’s completely normal for some babies to get their first teeth later, even after their first birthday. Some babies may start teething as late as 15–18 months. Possible Reasons for Late Teething: Genetics – If you or close family members had late teething, your baby might follow the same pattern. Nutritional Deficiency – Lack of calcium, vitamin D, or phosphorus can delay teething. Low Birth Weight or Prematurity – Premature babies may have delayed milestones, including teething. Hypothyroidism or Other Medical Conditions – Rare but possible reasons for delayed teething. What Can You Do? Ensure a Calcium-Rich Diet – Include dairy products (curd, paneer, cheese), ragi, sesame seeds, and leafy greens in your baby’s meals. Expose to Sunlight – Helps in natural vitamin D absorption, crucial for teeth development. Massage the Baby’s Gums – Gently rub the gums with a clean finger or a soft silicone teether. Consult a Pediatrician – If no teeth appear after 15 months, check for underlying issues. Late teething isn’t a major concern if your baby is otherwise growing well. Is your baby eating properly and meeting other milestones?

A. For a six-month-old baby, it's best to avoid store-bought biscuits as they often contain sugar, salt, preservatives, and refined flour, which are not suitable for infants. Instead, you can try homemade biscuits or soft teething biscuits made with natural ingredients like: Ragi (finger millet) biscuits – Rich in calcium and iron. Oats biscuits – Easy to digest and high in fiber. Homemade wheat biscuits – Without sugar and salt. Banana biscuits – Naturally sweet and soft. If you still prefer store-bought options, look for sugar-free, salt-free, and whole-grain biscuits made specifically for babies, like FirstCry’s baby biscuits or brands like Early Foods, Timios, or Slurrp Farm. At six months, you can also introduce mashed fruits, soft-cooked vegetables, and homemade porridge for better nutrition. Let me know if you need homemade biscuit recipes!
