यदि मल / पॉटी की (consistency) स्थिरता अर्द्ध ठोस से ठोस (सेमिसोलिड -- से सॉलिड) है तो मल की आवृत्ति (पॉटी बार बार करना) और रंग के बारे में चिंता करने की कोई आcवश्यकता नहीं है।
 इसके अलावा, अगर स्थिरता (consistency)सामान्य है तो मल की गंध के बारे में चिंता करने की कोई आवश्यकता नहीं है।
 आपको डॉक्टर से मिलना होगा यदि बच्चे की पॉटी / मल  बहोट ज्यादा पानी जैसा है या फिर बहुत ज्यादा कड़ा है (कब्जीयत) अन्यथा अर्ध ठोस से ठोस मल सामान्य है।
 खाना खाने के बाद मल त्याग करना भी सामान्य है।
