A. Your 10-year-old daughter got her first period early, which means she is in early puberty. Height growth slows down after periods start, but she can still grow for 2-3 more years. Will Her Height Grow More? Her current height of 4’7” (140 cm) is within the normal range for her age. Girls usually grow 2-3 inches (5-7 cm) more after their first period. Growth depends on genes, nutrition, exercise, and sleep. How to Help Her Grow Taller? ✅ Protein & Calcium: Eggs, fish, chicken, dal, paneer, milk, curd ✅ Iron & Zinc: Spinach, beetroot, dry fruits, pumpkin seeds ✅ Vitamin D: Sunlight exposure + almonds, sesame seeds ✅ Fruits & Vegetables: Banana, carrot, apple, papaya ✅ Whole Grains: Ragi, oats, brown rice, wheat Exercises to Increase Height: ✔ Jump Rope & Skipping – Helps leg growth ✔ Hanging from a Bar – Stretches spine ✔ Stretching & Yoga – Cobra pose, toe-touching ✔ Swimming & Cycling – Improves bone health Good Sleep is Important! 💤 Ensure she gets 9-10 hours of sleep as growth hormone is released during deep sleep. Can She Still Grow Taller? If her mother and father are tall, she might grow a bit more. If she is very active and eats well, she can reach her maximum potential height. If her height gain is very slow, consult a pediatrician for a growth evaluation.
